Daniel Watkins is a Newcastle native who moved to Melbourne to pursue a professional career in bluegrass. Dan’s band Big Bug Trio recently supported Peter Rowan on his 2012 Australian Tour at the Brunswick Festival, and he’s a common face at many festivals all over Australia. A go-to session guitarist, Dan is quickly making a name for himself as one to watch out for.

Paddy grew up in the small country town of Adelaide and supposedly wrote the chords out to “Heart of Gold” for his dad at age four. He was a weirdo from then on. Brought up on good wholesome sixties rock and nineties grunge, he took a turn towards Irish folk music and American bluegrass. Primarily because it gave him an excuse to hang around bars, playing mandolin and drinking Guinness.

Using his fiddle as a guide, and drawing upon the styles of Bluegrass, Celtic, Old-time and Jazz, George Jackson is just as at home playing a traditional Scottish strathspey or Monroe-style fiddle lick as he is playing his own innovative and creative compositions.
