Paddy grew up in the small country town of Adelaide and supposedly wrote the chords out to “Heart of Gold” for his dad at age four. He was a weirdo from then on.

Brought up on good wholesome sixties rock and nineties grunge, he took a turn towards Irish folk music and American bluegrass. Primarily because it gave him an excuse to hang around bars, playing mandolin and drinking Guinness.

Later he took an interest in Middle Eastern and Mediterranean folk music and instruments, because it gave him an excuse to hang around taverns playing the oud and drinking Ouzo. Still grounded in his rock and pop roots, he played with bands The British Robots and Oh Minor before moving to Melbourne.  He joined Oh Pep! after guesting with them at a gig, and is loving almost all of it.
